Next Generation Morrisons, Baldwins, and Walkers
This elective course is designed to help students embark on finding their creative voices. One thing that every student has in common when taking this class is that they want to write. Whether it's to write short stories, novels, or personal essays, each medium consists of some type of motivation which makes every writer unique to the craft of positing creative pieces. Within this class we will unveil the various definitions of fiction writing, the compelling processes that work for each individual writer, consider exercises to prompt fresh ideas for various pieces, and obtain strategies to read as writers. This course will assert that the imagination will no longer be ignored, but manifested into exciting and profound works.

In this chapter we will cover some basic definitions, sentiment and sentimentality, the job of writers, and how to avoid the "writerly" voice.
